Air France and Copa Airlines have announced a new codeshare agreement on five routes operated by the Panamanian airline.
Starting November 19, 2016, Air France-KLM group customers will be able to fly, as a continuation of flights operated by Air France, between Panama City and San José (Costa Rica) with two daily flights and San Salvador (El Salvador) with one daily flight.
As soon as government approval is obtained, the Group’s customers will also be able to fly to Guatemala City (Guatemala), Managua (Nicaragua) and Tegucigalpa (Honduras) with one daily flight on departure from Panama City.
Patrick Alexandre, EVP Commercial, Sales & Alliances at Air France-KLM said:
“Strengthening our partnership with Copa Airlines enables the Air France-KLM group to expand on the Central American markets. These new codeshare agreements complete our offer in line with the Paris – Panama offer and the launch, on November 2, of Air France’s Paris-San José route”.
“The new code-share agreement between Copa Airlines and Air France reinforces our commitment to passengers travelling between Europe and Latin America via the hub of the Americas in Panama. This agreement strengthens the region’s economic competitiveness and promotes its tourism and logistics activities”, said Dennis Cary, SVP of Commercial & Planning at Copa Airlines.
This new agreement is complementary with the eleven services offered by KLM on a codeshare basis by Copa Airlines on departure from Panama City to Central America and South America: Santiago (Chile), San José (Costa Rica), Guatemala City (Guatemala), San Pedro, Tegucigalpa (Honduras), Kingston, Montego (Jamaica), Managua (Nicaragua), Lima (Peru), San Juan (Puerto Rico) and San Salvador (El Salvador).
